kids-on-vacationBid 'n Go is an online auction website focused on the holiday travel market. Every year millions of rands are lost through unused accommodation and holiday-type activities. Bid 'n Go provides a way for travel companies to move more product by allowing guests to set the price. There are obvious protections in place such as a minimum bid and a reserve price, but if the destination has put together an exciting product or package, buyers will be willing to pay a fair and reasonable price.

At Bid ‘n Go we strive to achieve three things:

  1. Get more South Africans holidaying in South Africa at prices that they can afford.
  2. Improve occupancy rates and profitability at holiday destinations throughout the year.
  3. Generate much-needed income for important South African charities

In a traditional marketing environment, “sellers” spend a great deal of time, effort and money understanding their clients’ wants and needs and then sell a specific product to them. Bid ‘n Go not only makes it possible to sell directly to a receptive target market but also makes it possible to sell a variety of different product packages without incurring extra costs.
Travel companies can now experiment with different packages. They could include specific meals, outings and extras or they could offer a “bare-bones” deal. As Bid ‘n Go offers holiday auctions, buyers will decide what package is best for them and the final price will be determined by the buyers' eagerness to outbid any rivals - a win-win situation for both buyer and seller.

Our Charity Focus
Charity auctions have been a very useful way for charities to raise money for their causes. Bid ‘n Go takes this concept to a new level by raising money for charities through the auction sale of donated travel packages. We offer two types of charity auctions: the 50% auction where the charity and the donor share the proceeds of the sale; and the 100% auction where the charity retains the full sale price.

The value to the charity is obvious as they earn money that they otherwise would not have had. The benefit to the donor is a little less obvious but nonetheless as effective. The benefits of a donor include:

  1. You earn 50% of a sale that you otherwise would not have had as a 50% donor.
  2. You gain priceless exposure through the strength and goodwill associated with the charity of your choice.
  3. Charity auction pages contain links to the donor’s profile page with a full list of other auctions on offer from that specific donor. A link to the donor webpage is also included.
